This
elegant home is
complimented by a classic garden which celebrates the traditional
architecture and creates an outdoor environment which is
timeless. All
of the client's rrequirements are catered for in a formal garden which
showcases the home as well.
This " semi-formal,
rural-cottage" garden won Scott an Australian-wide competition for a
sponsored exhibition site at the Melbourne
International Flower and GardenShow.
This success was further
capped off by being
awarded a GOLD medal and a "HIGHLY COMMENDED"
medal for Landscape Design at the show.
This
garden sees the clever
combination of two distinctly different styles of
garden….all
within a small space. The
drought-friendly
native/Asian pond garden area relates visually to the modern overtones
of the house exterior. The more traditional English-cottage garden is
positioned in the rear corner separated from the home.
Water tanks provide this small part of the garden with its water
requirements, whilst the rest of the garden thrives on natural rainfall
alone.
